Snacking and Crafting

It's official....my little sister Brie just finished her exams so we are in full Christmas spirit over here! To celebrate, we brought out all of our craft supplies and snacks and created some Christmas projects! We both love to create and are inspired by each other when we are together. and because she just finished exams, we immediately thought - impromptu crafting party!

I brought some paints and paper, this gorgeous Holiday Deluxe Nuts & Candied Nuts Tray from Planters Peanuts, along with a few other mixes and of course, Chocolate Almonds. I love how easy this Holiday tray is to bring out. It makes the perfect snack platter to bring to a party or quickly put out for friends if they stop by.

Of course Jake had to get in on the fun. He painted a handmade clay ornament and I loved the end result! I think what drew him in was the bowl of Milk Chocolate Almonds from Planters on the table. He loves nuts and chocolate just as much as I do so I knew they would catch his attention.

The previous day, we had rolled out an ornament out of DAS Air Dry Clay from OPUS Art Supplies.  I used the Windsor and Newton Pigment Markers (amazing for different surfaces) and wrote Jake's name on the ornament. Then he added his own unique details using acrylic paints from OPUS. I love the colours he choose and it would be the perfect activity for a kids Christmas party!

Brie and I snacked on a couple different Zen Blenz from Planters Peanuts. They come in a resealable bag which is perfect for on the go, or at home if you don't finish the whole bag! The Namaste Mingle was the perfect blend of nuts and dried berries with a few yogurt coated surprises!

I always feel more inspired when I have all my supplies laid out nicely and then I make a big mess!! To me there is nothing more beautiful than a table filled with colours, paints, pens, paper etc. and a phone for pinterest inspiration :)

I love mixing watercolours with other mediums. This Pilot Metallic pen in Gold gave a classic feel with a bit of sparkle to Brie's creation.

Lately, I've been experimenting with the Pentel Aqua Brushes. They are perfect for writing with watercolours and the brush tip is easy to use for beginners. Christmas always brings so many different options for crafting and creating. Handmade Christmas cards, Christmas prints and ornaments are all amazing ideas for handmade gifts. Fortunately for us, we live close to OPUS Art Supplies and they always have everything we need.

After the mess had been cleaned up, this little one woke up and wanted to be a part of the party. So she got her own bowl of Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts (my absolute favourite) and snacked away! Planters Peanuts makes products our whole family enjoys. What's your favourite nut mix? I have my eye on the Honey Peanut Bar and the Salted Caramel Nut Bar next to try!!!
