Gardening with DeVry
/The sun has finally arrived and we couldn’t be happier. Our kids have been itching to get out and plant, and thankfully some vegetables love the colder weather to start which has been wonderful. However, now that the sunshine is here we are excited to get the garden stocked with fruits and vegetables for the summer! Every year we plant a few seeds so our children can see a plant grow right from the beginning, but the rest of our garden we get a little head start and buy vegetable and fruit seedling plants.
Devry Greenhouses is a local greenhouse here in Langley and they sell a variety of fruits, vegetables, annual flowers, planters and hanging baskets at Save-on-Foods, Loblaws, Rona and Lowe’s. It is always wonderful to be able to support local farmers when starting our own gardens each year. Devry’s plants are healthy, strong and ready to be planted right into the garden.

What we love about these pots is that children are able to watch the vegetables and herbs grow all summer. We even include our children when we harvest so they can see where there food is coming from!
Our girls always love helping to make our families hanging baskets and this year they used geraniums, pansies, dahlias, Calibrachoa and petunias to make the most beautiful pink and purple themed baskets.
