Adventure day with Dad

Days off with dad are the best. For our family, weekdays are our weekends because of my husbands work schedule. So when we explore, it tends to be quieter with less people out and about.

We enjoy exploring and Jake is happiest when he is outdoors. So, for this adventure we grabbed a few snacks from Trader Joe's and packed up our Herschel backpacks and hit the path. Campbell Valley Park is a short drive for our family and a beautiful backdrop for exploring.

For any great adventure, all our family needs is a few treats, maybe a picnic lunch, a blanket, a ball or two, some diggers for Jake and a backpack to store it all. Hershel makes the perfect diaper bag but also fashionable and practical backpacks for kids and dads (This would make a great Father's Day gift - hint hint). We love that Hershel offers every style from classic black & white, to playful prints for kids.

Along our adventure we met Mr. Squirrel. We couldn't believe how close we were to him (or her - who knows) and he didn't move. Jake was loving the up close and personal national geographic lesson!

This is why our family goes on adventures - it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere, with just us and our backpacks, enjoying God's beautiful creation.

I love this pic - Men are capable of looking at directions!

Look at the details of these backpacks! I just can't resist. The best part is the printed liner inside - irresistible!

Jake did his part and proudly carried his backpack most of the way!

Until next time Campbell Valley! Thank you Hershel for making adventuring for our family easy and stylish. How do you adventure with your family? Where should we head to next?
