Easter Weekend is Here

Easter weekend is here and we are eager to celebrate with our families and definitely hope the sunshine stays around. We know the significance of a weekend like Easter and we want to dedicate our time to remembering the importance of why we celebrate. We also like to include an Easter hunt that ends in finding some fun-filled baskets for our kids including some new toys from a few awesome companies!

Candy Lab Toys - The colours of these wooden cars are perfect for Easter. The soft pastel colours make a beautiful addition to any child’s Easter basket. We think children of all ages from young toddlers to even older children appreciate and love playing with cars. Our older kids still make races, tournaments and ramps using their cars they played with when they were preschoolers. The durability of Candylab make them a wonderful item to add to any playroom.

Gund makes the most coziest stuffies, perfect for any child to snuggle. Our girls especially love playing house, veterinarian or just imagining with their stuffed animals. However, Gund even has stuffies for the boys including this gorgeous shark! Some of Gund’s item such as the Glow Bops Bunpop even light up with a soft glow making it the perfect night-time snuggle companion.

Bendon Publishing is one of our favourite companies for each, on the go learning games and activities. Their mess free colouring pads and Imagine Ink books have been lifesavers on road rips!. There are so many different themes and characters to choose from. Lately their wooden toys and mini games in a tin have been engaging for our older kids. They love to create scenes, tell stories or even practice their addition or shapes using the compact activities. We love throwing them into a backpack or bag when we are in line at the ferry or on a longer car trip.

Hatchimals - These are the cutest little toy eggs that nestle in beautifully to an Easter basket. The best part is there is a surprise inside because each egg holds a tiny animal inside. The Hatchimal family spring basket and Hatchimal Colleggtables Sibling pack both are a wonderful option for Easter.

Raincoast - Every year we love adding a few new books to our family collection at Easter. Sunrise Dance and Moonlight Dance are gorgeous board books. The soft pastel colours and whimsical story of Sunrise Dance is a great pairing for spring. The Outer Space mini colouring roll from Mud Puppy is a great activity to roll out and have everyone join in to complete at an Easter celebration. Petit Collage makes so many wooden and durable puzzle and activities such as At Sea Wooden Puzzle and Play and Little Ocean Explorer would be great selections for younger ones.

Manda Group - We always want to pick out a few books to help explore our kids interests and Manda Group has such a big variety we always like to look at their published books. Ada Twist, Scientist is a curious science lover that is always ready to learn something new so we really love her books to help our kids wonder about the world. The Crab Ballet’s illustrations are beautiful and a perfect match to the pastel colours of Easter while the Flower Garden is a cute graphic novel exploring the magical wonders of gardening. There are so many great book titles to choose from so start with your kids’ current interests and I’m sure there is something for everyone.

Battat makes so many quality toys that last through all of our kids. Each of our kids always finds new ways to play with these bath toys, buckets and wooden vehicles and these all get used often in our homes.

We hope we could provide some more ideas for your Easter baskets this year with these amazing companies that we already love and use in our homes!
